Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellations up to 7 days before your reservation date are 100% refundable. If you have to cancel with less than 7 days’ notice you will forfeit your reservation deposit of 50% of the total rental amount. 9am to 8pm, 7 days a week unless otherwise posted on the home page. Unfortunately, we will be closed if there is lightning within 5 miles radius of us.

You can rent kayaks and paddle boards for as little as 1 hour, but keep in mind the rate gets prorated the longer you rent. Pontoon boats start at 2 hour increments.

If you arrive late for the start of your rental, the stop time does not change!

Late returns may be charged double the 1-hour rental rate for every 15 minutes past the end of your rental period! Keep in mind someone could have it rented 30 minutes after your rental period.

To streamline your time and experience on the water, full payment is required at booking.

We offer discounts for consecutive multiple days as outlined online. We are happy to give active military personnel a 10% discount as a thank you for your service!

The first tank of gas is included with all of our rentals!

For rental liability and the safety of everyone, we require the driver to be 21 years of age or older. We can also provide you with a skilled captian if you’d like.

Add water sports on all of our boats for $50. Price includes tube, ropes and life jackets. Sorry, we still charge $50 if you bring your own equipment.

We operate out of a grey enclosed trailer on the north side of South Shore Drive in the middle of Eldean Shipyard Marina. Please park across the street from the trailer or you may park inside building #7.
We operate on Lake Macatawa which about 6 miles long and 1.2 miles in width. It has 2 waterfront restaurants Boatwerks http://www.boatwerksrestaurant.com and LoLo’s https://www.lolosbarandgrill.com.

 

On calm days you are welcome to go out in Lake Michigan as long as you stay within 2 miles of shore. We don’t allow the anchoring of boats on Lake Michigan unless you ask first and we give you our permission. With that said it is still your responsibility to keep an eye on conditions and keep the boat safe. Always rule on the side of caution!

 

On a calm day its only 8 miles down the coast to Saugatuck.
Anyone 21 and older may rent from us, however; anyone born after June 30, 1996 needs to have a boater’s safety certificate to operate our boats. If you don’t have your certificate you may take it here: https://www.boat-ed.com/michigan/

The cost for 2021 is $29.50 and you don’t pay until you pass the exam at the end. Also, for anyone who takes and passes the boaters safety course in 2021, they could receive a $29.50 credit towards one rental!
You are welcome to bring your pet. We may charge up to $25 per pet and know that you are responsible for returning the boat clean otherwise we may impose a $50 cleaning fee.

Dogs must be on a leash while at the marina. Please pick-up any poop or karma may get you.

Each boat is equipped with all emergency equipment, including appropriately sized life jackets. We have plenty of infant (30lbs), child (30-50lbs) and youth life jackets (50-90lbs) at our rental trailer.

Please plan to arrive approximately 15-20 minutes before your start time. You will start at our grey MAC Adventures trailer. Please park across the street from the trailer or inside building #7.

 

Once you arrive, we will go over final payment and forms (if needed). We will also cover safety items. Check-in is finalized at the dock where we familiarize you with operation of the boat and document the equipment and safety items on a vessel checklist.

Upon your return, please plan on approximately 5 minutes for the Return/Check-out Process of your rental boat. Boat equipment and safety items will be verified by our amazing staff.
